This morning we will enjoy the most amazing introduction to some of the finest local Tuscan foods and wines.
Today we will enjoy a fabulous introduction to the finest yet often simplest Italian foods – beginning at the local good market with a real expert local ‘foodie’. We will discover with her Italian cheeses, salami, prosciutto’s, vegetables, fruits as well as some artisans products followed by which we will enjoy a very Italian tradition and that is Cappuccino in the local coffee shop – a great chance to mix with the locals and understand more about the local traditions and culture in this amazing region. Accompanied by our local guide today who is more than willing to share their knowledge and passion for their native land and with them in the driver’s seat, you never have to worry about getting lost. Following coffee we head back to Podere le Rose to enjoy a very special food and wine tasting…

Today we will enjoy a wonderful introduction to the world of the ever famous Italian Olive Oil…
Our journey today will not only introduce us to some of Tuscany’s finest Olive Oils but we will also enjoy a deeper understanding of the varieties of Olive trees, olive harvest, olive oil production. We will walk in the Olive Groves and learn all about the Olive Harvest as we exchange pleasantries with the locals collecting the olives… A must on our agenda today is a visit to an Olive oil mill to discover the methods of oil production, traditional with granite stone versus modern machines. Returning to Podere le Rose where we will enjoy tasting different olive oils from North, South and Tuscany and learning how to recognize the different oils and their origins. Before saying goodbye to our local expert guide we will we will enjoy a light meal with Bruschetta, Crostini, an Italian salad and typical Tuscan dessert just before we head home..

Enjoy a Hands-on Tuscan Cooking lesson with Top Chef Attilio Di Fabrizio of the beautiful Villa San Michele.
Today we embark on an exploration of the Tuscan culinary tradition at the beautiful Villa San Michele in Fiesole. Their cookery school has become known and respected both locally and internationally and is renowned for the personal attention dedicated to each participant in the lesson, and the peaceful surroundings in which the lesson is held. Chef Attilio di Fabrizio is among the greats in Italy, having spent time in his home country, Frances, Britain, Switzerland and America, perfecting his talents in the Kitchen. He became chef at the renowned ‘Enoteca Pinchiorri’ in Florence before taking over the kitchens of the Vila San Michele. The menu for your group lesson will be based on the classic Italian dishes of risotto, pasta and soups as they are prepared in Tuscany. Allow your expert chef to lead you through their careful preparation, giving you hands-on practice of how to perfect the techniques. Your lesson also includes a portfolio of recipes to take home, a cookery school apron and ends with a delicious lunch served with a regional Tuscan wines and hosted by your Chef. This morning we will enjoy a wonderful introduction to typically Italian cooking in great company in the heart of Chianti…
The cooking lesson takes place in the small village of Poggio San Polo – a small village with just 4 houses in the area of Gaiole in Chianti, which is 10 minutes from Radda in Chianti, 30 minutes from Siena and 1 hour from Florence. These hands on lesson covers traditional home-style Tuscan and Italian Recipes. The classes are held in a friendly relaxed atmosphere in an evocative stone farmhouse in the hills of Chianti, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves which has been lovingly restored by the de’Mari Family, one of the oldest noble families of Italy. Not only will you have the opportunity to make new friends but also learn a few centuries old ‘un written’ Tuscan Cooking secrets from Paola and Simonetta. Participants cook and eat dishes which have been prepared using fresh, natural ingredients. A complete meal includes appetizers, a pasta dish, a vegetable dish and then a dessert is prepared every day and is accompanied by the wine which best accompanies it.

As we make our way to Montepulciano, learn the art of Tuscan cooking on the Ercolani farm as Angela Ercolani brings Tuscan recipes to life in her kitchen.

Pizza and Pane
If there’s anything more enjoyable for children than eating a pizza, it’s eating a pizza they’ve made from scratch!
While you’re learning the traditional methods of Tuscan cooking your children are having a ball experimenting with different bread-making techniques, before heading out on an exciting field trip through the Ercolani garden to collect ingredients to top a delicious homemade pizza. Stella Ercolani is our pizza and bread-making expert today, adding just enough Tuscan history to your children’s cooking lesson to make it that much more special…and of course we wouldn’t dare miss out on dessert as we finish off the lesson with some delicious Gelato sampling! Our tour is supervised by an adult activity leader and is all in the name of fun and experimentation and will be tailored to children’s ages. Children and parents will then enjoy a meal together after the experiences, in the Ercolani family restaurant. (limit 8 children - Tour Duration: 4 Hours including 2 Hours meal)
