Sweep through a tall, wrought iron gated entrance, along a private, cypress and maritime pine, tree-lined country road, that then winds further on through the very heart of the Fattoria Santo Stefano Estateand after a short stretch you will come to The Lakes.

Once a myriad of farm buildings, this superbly renovated, tiered complex is totally snuck away into the hillside in complete privacy and overlooks the lakes of Santo Stefano, in the valley of the two rivers Rio and Torrese. Totally secluded and private The Lakes has literally been carved into the terrain and dominates a small valley of woodland, farmland and wild bush, not to mention two spectacular lakes with all the wild life that they bring. With fantastic views towards the west in particular, sunset on The Lakes is not to be missed.

The subdued orange hues of the exterior surrounded by fertile Mediterranean gardens and then the natural setting itself give a very soft feel to this beautifully restored set of villa suites. Terracotta walls and paved walkways, old stone flagstone courtyard and carefully pointed Tuscan brickwork combine in harmony and the effect is totally serene.

Accommodation Details: Tinged in light pastel shades all the villa suites are airy and luminous. Each with its own private terrace and Mediterranean shrub garden the setting is totally relaxing and green.

As with all the Santo Stefano properties, the furnishings and finishings are all of excellent quality and very tastefully designed. All rooms are decorated in Tuscan pastels which are beautifully luminous. Simple yet typically Italian fabrics are coordinated throughout and the furniture is solid, yet in an elegant Tuscan country style. Bathrooms are new with wall to wall showers, and simple white porcelains. Naturally all rooms of the villa suites are air-conditioned.

The Lakes comprises 8 suites to sleep a total of 32 guests in 13 Double Bedrooms and 6 Single Bedrooms. The Suites are thus made-up:
3 x 3 pax suites (double bedrooms, 1 large single bedroom (French bed), 1 ensuite shower room, 1 private shower room)
2 x 4 pax suites (2 double bedrooms, 1 ensuite shower room, 1 private bathroom with tub and hand held shower)
3 x 5 pax suites (2 double bedrooms, 1 large single bedroom (French bed), 3 ensuite shower rooms)

All villa suites have large sliding glass door entrances and many of the bedrooms have French windows leading on to private terraces.

Fully equipped with full country kitchens featuring rust coloured deep granite sinks and dark green grés tiling and spacious lounge areas, these reception areas lead out onto furnished private terraces for outdoor dining.

The Lakes Pavilion: Rented together with The Lakes accommodation, the Pavilion is a magnificent building. The architecture is impressive and the combination of modern and traditional is subtle yet strong at the same time. The Pavilion is the location to entertain. Space, comfort, luxury and technology. Materials, texture and colour have been put together wonderfully and the effect is stunning.

Crescent shaped, with 250sqm of living and dining space, vast sofa areas, lower level inset great fireplace with step seating all around, hand made solid wood curved shaped dining table, glass fronted, top professional kitchen, private spa (on request only), restrooms with showers, 150 sq.m of multi functional parquet floored room suitable for gym activities, yoga, or meetings (available on request only please enquire about facilities available). Totally glass fronted and south west facing, the views and light are spectacular. The Lakes Pavilion is a staffed Pavilion with extensive living and dining area, glass fronted professional kitchen, 2 full restrooms with shower facilities. The Pavilion offers Sky Tv, a full stereo system, Wi-Fi, and large open fire place with wood provided. The Pavilion also offers a private spa on request only and payable as a supplement, fully equipped meeting-conference area)

The Lakes is therefore a perfect property for those wanting comfort in a most unique and relaxing atmosphere. Superbly positioned, The Lakes is a sophisticated venue for family reunions, celebrations, parties and professional events.

Included in the rates are use of The Lakes accommodation and The Pavilion with housekeeping staff.
Catering staff, chefs or cooks are to be paid for extra as is food and drink.
Use of the private spa is on request only and subject to a full supplement.
Use of the meeting/conference area is on request only and subject to a full supplement.
The Pavilion is open for guests from breakfast time until 11pm. Use of the Pavilion after this time is subject to a supplement.

Note: The Pavilion may not be used without staff as this is a private Pavilion and given the nature of the contents it must be staffed.

Note on Children: The spacious indoor ground floor areas and private terraces offer great floor space for children to play. The pool solarium is totally flat and the pool is reached either by a long flight of steps or by a longer route with less steps and a level path. Children and parents should feel comfortable therefore with steps and as always children need to be watched.
