Uzes Provence Villa France

Just a few kilometers from Avignon and close to the world famous Pont du Gard on the outskirts of a charming Provencal village is this superb 6 bedroom villa.

The 350 year old farmhouse has been lovingly restored to form a luxury and spacious family home. The interiors are very spacious, light and airy and the thick stone walls keep in the heat in winter and keep the property cool in summer.

The villa is furnished with a mix of Provencal, Moroccan and Spanish pieces of furniture and art reflecting the history of this area which is linked closely to the Camargue and where you can see the famous white horses, flamingoes and black bulls. The property is fully enclosed in high stone walls with an ornate wrought iron gate entry and is very private.

The gardens are mainly laid to lawn with towering ancient trees providing welcome shade during the long hot summers. At the far end of the garden is the 11 x 6 metre swimming pool with sun terraces and a covered dining area with barbeque. To the front of the house is a wisteria covered pergola with a marble dining table and chairs and a further barbeque area. The house and terraces have a metre high fence dividing off the pool and lawned area from the house for extra child safety.

You enter the villa into a large open plan living space distinctly divided into two separate areas, one with comfortable sofas grouped around the fireplace the other a modern fully fitted kitchen with dining table. There is also separate laundry room / storage room and guest cloakroom. There is further sitting room with feature fireplace at this level and a second guest cloakroom. Here you will also find the first bedroom, a double, which would share one of the upstairs bathrooms but has its own wc. There are two sets of staircases leading to the first floor, one at each end of the property.

On the first floor you will find the master suite and this has a very large bedroom with carved Spanish bed, a private sitting room, a private covered terrace overlooking the gardens and en-suite bathroom with ball and claw tub and separate shower. A truly superb master suite. Bedroom three is also located on this floor and it has a four poster bed, together with bedroom four a twin and these share a family bathroom. Bedroom five and six are on the top floor here these comprise a twin and a double each with a shower room and there is a further sitting room/TV room with games and video. This is a superb quality house and ideal for families or groups of friends for both winter and summer holidays.
