Cipieres Villa France

The lovely medieval village of Cipieres located in the hills behind Grasse is dominated by its ancient Château.

The original Château dates back to the 14th century and its castellated ramparts form part of the current property. During the 17th century the castle was changed from a medieval fortress to a classical Provencal chateau which the current owners have spent two years renovating. The Chateau now forms a comfortable and elegant family home with all modern comforts and retains many of the original features. The Château is on four floors and has an elevator between floors together with an elegant sweeping staircase. From the entrance hall to the left you enter two interconnecting living rooms, one furnished with large comfortable sofas and wall mounted plasma television together with feature fireplace, and the second used as a library games room. The rooms are elegantly proportioned with oak flooring and high ceilings.

To the right of the entrance hall is the formal dining room with vast open fireplace and leading off this is the professional kitchen. From the hallway the central staircase leads to the upper floor. To the right of this staircase is an ante room from where you can take the elevator to the first and second floors and stairs lead down to the lower floor. The lower floor, which can also be accessed independently from the lower courtyard, comprises the gym with shower room and sauna, a wine cellar, music room and a meeting room. On the first floor there are three bedrooms. The first master suite with double bedroom and private sitting room each with working fireplace. Both rooms open to the balcony. The suite has a dressing room and en suite bathroom with corner Jacuzzi bath and hamman style multi jet shower. Bedroom two is a double bedroom with fireplace, dressing area and en-suite shower room again with direct access to balcony. This can interconnect with bedroom three which is a superb children’s room with twin beds, a large sitting room with fireplace, day bed, television and sitting area and play area. This has an en suite shower room and again opens on to the balcony with access to the gardens. On the second floor there are a further three bedrooms, a master suite with private sitting room, fireplace and en-suite bathroom with tub and separate shower and two more double bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms. The top floor has 4 bedrooms, two doubles with en- suite shower rooms and a family suite with twin bedroom with shower room, double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi and hamman shower and a private sitting room. On this level there are two staff bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms which are available upon request should guests either bring their own staff or require extra space. All the interiors are beautifully appointed with a mix of antique and modern furniture. The bedrooms have plasma televisions and the property has three Sky satellite systems as well and high speed internet throughout. Whilst the interiors are superb the exteriors and grounds are breathtaking, with 360 degree views and incorporating the ramparts and original features. To the font of the Chateau is a large terrace with comfortable sofas and a covered dining area, the remaining tower has been converted into a cool sitting room with a millstone table. There is a sunken walled garden with spacious lawns, a separate gated and walled area where you will find the heated swimming pool with sun terraces, bar and dining area. From the pool area steps lead down to yet another sunken walled garden with summer kitchen, dining area and guest cloakrooms and showers.

This property is beautifully appointed in a wonderful location and has been sympathetically restored keeping its historic features, quite simply unique.
