La Maison Blanche Loire Valley

La Maison Blanche Villa is a private and stylish oasis in the charming town of Saumur in the Loire Valley.

La Maison Blanche is a jewel of a house, situated just a short walk from the center of the elegant and lively town of Saumur, on the Loire, famous for being the home of the French Cavalry Academy, it's imposing 13th century Chateau and of course it's rather excellent wines.

The house, recently completely and lovingly restored by a world renown Interior Designer, is breathtakingly beautiful and very zen. For good reason is it called La Maison Blanche. From the ornate wrought iron gates, on the quiet road, that serve as an entrance from the outside world, to the profusion of flowers that grow in the attractive courtyard garden, to the exterior limestone of the house, to the spacious and welcoming interiors. Everything, but everything is white. While the attention to detail throughout, is quite breathtaking.

There is a very pretty short, flower and herb filled walkway that leads from the automatic entrance gates to the courtyard terraced garden, which features a 8 x 4m covered heated infinity pool, waterfall, outdoor shower, and barbecue.

On entering the main entrance on the ground floor, a breakfast and comfortable seating area immediately welcomes one, whilst further into the house, there is a large kitchen, with a central professional la Canche cuisiniere, two dishwashers, two washing machines, two clothes dryers and a side-by-side fridge freezer. As one moves beyond the kitchen there is a large dining area, whilst at far end of the L shaped open plan ground floor one can relax in a delightful bibliotheque with working fireplace. Close to one of the two staircases, there is a separate WC.

On the first floor there is a very large, elegant salon, that is split into two areas, with four enormous and very comfortable sofas. The stunning features of the salon, include; a glass tiled floor, two fireplaces and an Erard 1900 Baby Grand piano.

On the second floor there is a fully equipped gym.

All the bedrooms are air conditioned, there are thirteen ceiling fans throughout the house, an alarm system, a safe, an indoor/outdoor music system, satellite TV, 5 televisions, cordless phones, Internet access, garage parking, a crib and a high chair. In fact everything, to make the stay as enjoyable and indulgent an experience as possible.

There are three further double bedrooms. One of which is a second Master bedroom with King size bed, seating area, flat screen television and en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. There are two large guest bedrooms, both with King size beds, that share a bathroom with bath, shower and WC.

Guest house

The Guest house, on two floors, comprises of a small kitchen, dining area, downstairs daybed and a loft with Queen size bed and bathroom, with bath, shower and WC. There is also a flat screen television, cordless phones, air-conditioning, music system and intercom to the main house. Several of the sofas in the bedrooms can be used for additional sleeping accommodation.
