St. James Apartment The Lakes

This lovely, well restored apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a quaint house in the heart of the historical center of Bellagio, overlooking the main square and the ancient St. James church from one side and the Borgo from the other one.

The beautiful lake glimmers just in-front of you, peeping behind the red antique roof’s of the historical palaces of Bellagio with the ever famous Villa Carlotta and Grand Hotel Tremezzo in the distance as the perfect back drop. Because of the very central location of the house it is ever so easy to go shopping on foot. Here in Bellagio there are all the shops you can ever need, many restaurants, banks, pleasant café bars where you can sit and watch the world go by and enjoy this beautiful town, known locally as the ‘Pearl’ of Lake Como.

Steps across the way, you can partake in a guided tour of the gardens of Villa Serbelloni, owned by the Rockefeller Foundation. Walking enthusiasts can embark on any number of self-guided tours of the hamlets that circle Bellagio. Buses to Como and Lecco, the closest towns with train stations, stop just 300 yards away. The ferry landing, offering transportation for both passengers and cars, is within 300 yards. Ferries run until early evening and you can reach other lakeside towns such as Varenna in 15 minutes; Menaggio: 20; Lecco with excellent shops and museums: 25 and Como: 45. By car, San Primo Mountain is 30 minutes away; Lugano: 40 and Milan: 90.

The property itself is spacious and naturally well lit, with ancient and well restored wooden floors, doors and windows; the living room is adorned with antiques while the furniture in the other rooms are new and yet classic in style. For those who wish to explore by car, don’t worry about parking even though public parking is just a stone’s throw away and plentiful, you actually have your own private garage located just 500 metres from the property.

The property is located on one level and has a large entrance area; a spacious living/dining room has table for 4 people, a comfortable sofa, TV SAT, DVD player, Flat screen TV, two balconies with views of the church and of the lake. The modern kitchen has a table and chairs for four, is well equipped and includes fridge, oven and microwave-oven, gas stove, American coffee machine and there is also an useful covered balcony.

There is a charming double bedroom, with bed tables, a wardrobe, chairs, a safe and a stunning view from the balcony overlooking the church. The second bedroom comes with two single beds, a wardrobe and an armchair not to mention yet another balcony which offers yet another picture postcard perfect view of Bellagio. The bathroom is new and with shower, sink and mirror, wc and bidet, shelves and washing machine. Iron and ironing board are provided and a maid service during the week can be arranged if requested at the time of booking.
