Le Vieil Amandier - P501 Provence

Just at the foot of Gordes lies a big estate with 3 houses that offers privacy and comfort for 10 people including children.

This domain is an enclosed 10-acre mas (country estate) surrounded by vineyards, olive orchards, cherry trees and has spectacular vistas of the Luberon Valley and its hill villages. It is located at the foot of the beautiful village of Gordes, within walking distance of its activity, but resting in its own peaceful space.

The Main House: (6 people + children)

This is a reconstructed and renovated country farm house. On the main and upper levels are two spacious bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed, the other with a queen; each has its own bath. Next to the bedroom wing is a large and gracious dining room with adjoining patio.
To the left of the main entry is a spacious salon with fire place, satellite TV, DVD and library of DVD’s,many great books. The salon opens onto a patio with an expansive view of the Luberon Valley. Up a few stairs off the dining room is a bright, modern kitchen for those of you who can’t stay away from the markets and want to turn their produce into delicious dishes of your own. Off the kitchen is a porch with an outstanding view with steps leading down to the pool with adjoining shaded lawn, pool kitchen and outdoor grill.

On a lower level of the main house is a children’s play room with toys, TV, DVD player, CD player that leads to the courtyard and access to three bedrooms This opens out into a courtyard (site of the fountain) which has access to three more bedrooms.One has two queen-sized beds and full bath. A second has bunkbeds with full bath; a third, up a flight of stone steps, has twin beds with a half bath.

La Bergerie (4 people + 2 children)

The Bergerie has an airy and sunny personality of its own. This lovely little building is separate from the others as it was originally the old sheepfold. It has been completely transformed.To enter you cross a lovely front deck with stone table and pass into a grand front room that contains a modern kitchen with spacious dining and living areas, telephone, Dolby Surround sound system, TV, DVD player.There are enormous sliding glass doors on either end of the room that frame beautiful views of the Luberon. Behind the great room is a small hallway with access to bedrooms on either side with queen-sized beds; each has its own connecting bath. There is also a small “bunk room” between the other bedrooms with twin beds and porthole windows, a perfect children’s room. On the east end of the building is an outdoor shower.

This building is attached to the main house by a shared wall although has its own private access. It consists of two apartments each with combined living room/dining rooms, small efficient kitchens, and private patios. Up a flight of stone steps off the living room in the upper apartment is a spacious bedroom with a queen-sized bed and adjoining bath; there is a second bedroom a few steps below the main level with twin beds and connecting bath. The lower apartment can be accessed via a stairway from the upper apartment living room, or through a separate entrance of its own on the lower level. It has a double bedroom accessed by a flight of stairs off the lower entrance hall. This has a full bath. There is a half bath at the base of the stairs and it has its own secret garden.

Outdoors:

There is a tennis Court with night lights ; racquets and balls available.A swimming pool 11m x 5m fenced infinity pool which offers spectacular views of the Luberon Mountains Alongside the pool is a well equipped summer kitchen with huge stone terrace. The lawned garden is fringed by almond and olive trees and includes a children's play area and boule pitch. There are numerous terraces with comfy chaises - the perfect spot to lounge in comfort and have a picnic.
