Mas du Tilleul - P817 Provence

Perfect Provencal home for 10 -12 people within a walking distance to a nice village of Luberon.

The traditional construction, with thick stone walls, and shuttered windows, protects the house's inhabitants from the heat of the Provencal summer sun. The south facing enclosed courtyard captures the sun and warmth for al fresco dining whilst providing shelter from the occasional Mistral. A westerly facing terrace offers vantage points to enjoy an evening cocktail while watching the sun set over the Luberon mountains.

The heated swimming pool gets sun from dawn ‘til dusk but has ample shade around for those who wish to escape the midday sun. It also remains fresh in summer and enjoys light breezes which make the temperature very comfortable. The house is surrounded by a landscaped garden, designed by Nicole de Vesian, the celebrated Provencal garden designer, and is set amongst vines and cherry trees At the entry to the house is a garden area planted with olive trees and plane trees where one can play petanque over a pastis.

Inside the house there is a large sitting room where one can relax with a book, listen to music or catch up with the latest world events on satellite TV. This room has French doors opening on to the west facing terrace and the courtyard. The kitchen is set in a large vaulted room, which opens out to the courtyard. It is extremely well equipped, with a 140cm LaCanche range cooker, a 3 meter central island, and dining area. There is a separate dining room next to the kitchen, with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace for chilly evenings. There is a laundry room with a washer and a dryer.

The sleeping accommodation comprises five main guest rooms, each with a spacious bath or shower room. Another smaller sixth bed room adjoins one of the rooms and is suitable for children. Four of the rooms are set in the main house and the fifth room is in the converted dovecot opening onto the terrace by the pool.

The house sleeps 10 adults plus two children comfortably. On the first floor there are two bedrooms and one Family room. Bedroom Cerisiers is a large bedroom in the former hay loft with southerly and westerly views. It has a 160cm wrought iron four poster bed. This room has an en suite bathroom. Bedroom Pechers is a double bedroom overlooking the courtyard. It can be made up as twin beds or as a 180cm King. It has an en suite shower room. Bedroom Amandiers is a family suite comprising a double bedroom with a 160cm bed and an adjoining small sitting room, which can be made up as two twin beds. The double bedroom overlooks the courtyard and the twin room faces east towards olive trees and vines. This suite has its own bathroom. On the ground floor there is a large twin room, Bedroom Abricotiers which can be arranged either as a 180cm King bed or two twin beds. This room overlooks the courtyard, and the en suite shower room has a view towards the village of Goult. Bedroom Pommiers is in a small building across the courtyard, which houses a cozy double bedroom (150 cm bed) with French doors opening on to a secluded terrace beside the pool. On the lower floor is an en suite shower room.

Location Details

  • Le mas du Tilleul is located a short walk from the village of Goult, in the heart of the Luberon Natural Park, and provides the perfect base from which to explore Provence and the Midi. Goult is a charming, unspoiled village with good shops, three restaurants, and an atmospheric Café Bar. The village has everything you need on a day to day basis, so there is no need to go anywhere if you don't want to. Le mas du Tilleul combines the charm of an eighteenth century farmhouse with today's comforts and amenities, providing the perfect Provencal home for 10 -12 people
