Borgo La Casa comprises of 12 apartment suites located in a cluster of three farmhouses set around cobbled courtyards surrounded by lawns and garden areas of roses, various other flower beds and cypress trees.

Dating from the 13th century, the private country estate the Fattoria Santo Stefano is set amongst a sweeping landscape of gentle hills and valleys in a little known area of northern Tuscany, yet less than an hour from the historic centres of Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena. The estate covers over 1000 acres of rolling countryside, lakes, woodlands, cornfields, olive groves, vineyards - even a wildlife reserve. At its centre is the hamlet of Santo Stefano with the remains of an old castle and church with its Etruscan tombs and cellars which remain in use today.

A number of the estate’s former farmhouses and agricultural buildings have been carefully restored by local craftsmen to offer high quality holiday accommodation with all the facilities demanded by the 21st century holidaymaker, but with all the charm of a classic Tuscan estate.

Borgo La Casa features a large rectangular swimming pool, an outdoor Jacuzzi pool, an extensive loggia, perfect for sunbathing or relaxing. Set in an elevated position in the south of the estate on the way to Montaione, there are far reaching views over the surrounding rolling countryside.

La Casa Sei sleeps either five or six and is ideal for a large family or couples or groups of friends. La Casa for six guests is set over two floors, with the entrance on the ground floor. The apartment is light and bright with pastel coloured walls and is furnished and decorated in a local Tuscan style with country furniture.

Fully air-conditioned, La Casa Sei comprises an open-plan living and dining area on the ground floor, with satellite television, which leads off the kitchen corner equipped with a hob and oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher with grey marble work surfaces. Also on the ground floor there is also a king size double bedroom with a separate shower room. Stairs lead up to the first floor where there is another king size double bedroom and a twin bedded room with two further shower rooms.

Borgo La Casa Cinque is suitable for up to 5 guests. The apartment suite is furnished and decorated in a similar style to La Casa Sei but is located on the ground floor only. There is a sitting room with satellite television and an arch to the dining area which leads off the kitchen which is equipped with a hob and oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are three bedrooms comprising a double bedroom with king size bed, a twin bedroom, a single and two full shower rooms.

Each of the apartment suites at La Casa opens onto different areas of the cobbled terraces, which are dotted with colourful pots of geraniums and tables and chairs for dining al fresco. There is a fountain water feature in the front courtyard.

Steps and cobbled walkways lead down through the gardens to the shared swimming pool, 25 x 6 m, which has a pietra serena surround. The pool is set amongst lawns and bordered on one side by a large shady loggia, furnished for sitting, dining or just relaxing. To the other side of the pool there is a large area of lawn with colourful pots of geraniums and a separate hexagonal Jacuzzi.

There is a Wifi hot spot for guests use as well a communal laundry room with washing machines and ironing facilities.

A Children’s Club will be held at Santo Stefano between 09 July and 27 August. The Club offers educational activities as well as periods of play including fun team games and activities where children can get to know each other and make new friends. The educational activities include learning about the estate of Santo Stefano and its history, archaeology, local nature and farm animals. Visits can be arranged to local places of interest for both children and their parents, such as old castles with wineries, olive oil mills and local museums. Please note that only likely costs are for entrance fees to museums etc.

Location Details

  • Nearby to Podere La Casa and the Fattoria Santo Stefano are the market towns of Castelfiorentino and Montaione both just 6 kms away, each has a good range of shops, cafes, restaurants and a weekly market that will cater for your holiday needs.
  • There is a wide choice of sporting facilities in the surrounding area; a tennis club in Castelfiorentino, mountain bikes can be rented, horse riding can be booked locally and fishing can be arranged.

  • These villas must be rented with the minimum staffing noted above and cleaning may not be excluded from the rental or refused
  • All other utilities including air conditioning (all properties) and heating included in rate - subject to seasonality

Tuscany Villa Notes

  • Due to limited transportation in outlying and rural areas, a rental car is essential for stays at countryside villas in Italy. We are more than happy to arrange a car for you during your stay, please just let us know at time of booking.
  • Please note that Italy villas rent from Saturday to Saturday. Exceptions may be possible on a case by case basis and upon request.
  • The Italian government has implemented a Visitor’s Tax of €1.50 per person per day and applies to all overnight stays for the first seven days in the destination. This tax is payable to the local property manager.
