CASA FELICE MATTEUCCI located near Lucca in the village of Vorno is a gem of a Tuscan farmhouse with six bedrooms set in a stunning estate of hill-terraced olive groves and overlooking a small lake with its own little island reached by a wooden bridge.

It is a home of great charm and comfort (fully heated and air-conditioned) with 6 elegant and luxuriously appointed guestrooms each with magnificent en-suite bath and shower facilities for up to 12 guests.

Ground Floor: Main entrance leading into a grand salon of comfortable sofas and armchairs, fireplace and music system, TV room with satellite TV, Fully equipped Tuscan kitchen, Domed dining room, Guest study area with telephone, fax, internet access and computer facilities, Staircase to first floor, Cloakroom/bathroom, Laundry room

First Floor: 6 sunny and spacious queen bedded rooms with beamed ceilings and original terracotta floors each with modern en-suite bath and shower facilities. One room has the possibility to be adjoining and can either be a twin bedded or king bedded room.

Staff Details

  • /Services: Included in the weekly rental rate is a housekeeper who services the bedrooms and ground floor reception rooms each day (6 days per week. A gardener looks after the grounds and swimming pool maintenance.

WINE CELLAR & WINE TASTINGS : There is a private wine list from which you may wish to select wines ranging from Euro 10 upwards. A professional wine sommelier can also be arranged to tailor-make a particular wine tasting program for your group.

LAUNDRY: We are pleased to offer a service for personal laundry as well as make arrangements for any specialist dry cleaning requirements.

BABYSITTING SERVICE: English speaking babysitters can be arranged.

MASSAGE: Massages can be booked with a professional masseuse who will come to the villa as and when required. Spa treatments at the Grotta Guisti health spa in Montecatini can also be arranged.

ITINERARY PLANNING & BOOKING SERVICE: For a small booking fee, we can assist in planning your stay with us from organizing guides, tours, transport and drivers, organization and catering for special events, etc.

PLANNING YOUR STAY:
Borgo Bernardini is an ideal base from which to discover the many delights of Tuscany. The medieval walled town of LUCCA is a 10 minute drive away - the small city is very easy to get around and discover for yourself or we can arrange guided tours The Leaning Tower of PISA (30 minutes away) has recently opened to the public - it is stunningly set in an open lawned piazza which also houses the Cathedral, Baptistery and Campo Santo Cemetery. A 40 minute drive will take you to the little port and town of LERICI overlooked by a cliff top castle from where boats leave every hour to PORTOVENERE and the World Heritage site of the CINQUE TERRE - five dramatically cliff clinging villages.

Renaissance FLORENCE is just an hour away, either by train or car ???? we can arrange guided visits as well as organize pre-booked tickets to the Uffizi or the Accademia. SIENA is an hour and a half away with possible stops on the way to SAN GIMIGNANO and MONTERIGGIONI, as is CHIANTI where you can arrange a wine-tasting at one of the many vineyards. For those interested in art and sculpture there are the impressive marble quarries of CARRARA as well as the sculpture town of PIETRASANTA. FORTE DEI MARMI is a lively beach stop with some great shopping as you join the masses in the early evening stroll through the town.

There are many wonderful restaurants to try in the area and we can assist in pointing you in the right direction and making reservations.

There is a 3,000 Euro Refundable Security Deposit. Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday with the arrival time being after 4:00pm and departure prior to 11:00am. Christmas and Easter Rates available upon request.
