Il Sogno - Florence Hills Tuscany

Villa Il Sogno is on a beautiful mountain country road with pristine views leading up to the two-story villa situated on 3 acres of property.

The grounds are entered by a shared remote-operated gate and an ancient cypress-lined driveway. It is situated amongst rolling hills and is surrounded by olive and fruit trees, landscaped with many varieties of flowers and herbs. It overlooks a superlative vista. The Villa shares 1 wall with the home of a middle aged couple. The outdoor terraces and the pool are secluded and completely private.

The semi attached Villa has four spacious bedrooms, a 15x30 foot living/dining area on the upper floor, surrounded by large windows on three sides, wooden beams and a grand working Tuscan fireplace. The inlaid wood dining table comfortably seats fourteen. The modern kitchen is very well equipped for entertaining.

There are three terraces on the property. The first, at the entrance to the house, has a sitting area and spectacular panoramic view. The second is a large pergola in the upper gardens with a sitting and dining area equipped with a Tuscan barbeque and marble counter with sink. The third is adjacent to the pool with a lounging area as well as an outdoor dining area.

The house has four spacious bedrooms, a living/dining area on the upper floor surrounded by large windows on three sides, wooden beams and a grand working Tuscan fireplace. The inlaid wood dining table comfortably seats fourteen and the modern kitchen is very well equipped for entertaining.

The villa has been restored with attention to detail in an international eclectic style while maintaining the integrity of the Tuscan aesthetic. The interior decoration combines antiques with modern sofas and other contemporary furniture.

Kitchen: equipped with a microwave, espresso machine, refrigerator, dishwasher, large double sink, marble countertops and fine china and table linens. There are two bar stools and a counter for informal eating.

Grounds: Fruit and herb orchard: variety of fruit trees, four kinds of grapes, berries as well as herbs including rosemary and sage.

Garden: Many kinds of flowers and trees such as magnolia and hydrangeas. Magnificent vista views from different parts of the terraced property.

Restaurants: Many diverse authentic country restaurants ranging from Tuscan pizzeria to seafood are within a 10 to 20 minute drive from Il Sogno.

  • 7 miles east of Florence in a majestic rural Tuscan setting
  • Downtown Florence is easily accessible via train, taxi or car within 20 minutes
  • Located in the heart of Chianti, it is an easy drive to Siena, Greve, Lucca, and Montepulciano.
  • Tennis and golf facilities are nearby

Bedroom Details

  • 1 master suite and 3 large double bedrooms, all enhanced with fine Italian bed linens and towels. The master bedroom suite is air-conditioned. The other bedrooms have remote controlled ceiling fans and air conditioning. All bedroom windows have screens.

Bathroom Details

  • 5 full bathrooms. Contemporary and of the highest standards combining marble, wood and authentic Italian ceramic tile.They are equipped with guest bath amenities from Chianti Cashmere Company as well as with hairdryers, bathrobes and heated towel racks. Three of the five bathrooms have double sinks.

  • The villa is rented with a staff of 3
  • The housekeeper provides cleaning and laundry services daily except Sunday
  • There is also an assistant who provides a porter service and maintains the grounds

  • Due to limited transportation in outlying and rural areas, a rental car is essential for stays at countryside villas in Italy. We are more than happy to arrange a car for you during your stay, please just let us know at time of booking.
  • Please note that Italy villas rent from Saturday to Saturday. Exceptions may be possible on a case by case basis and upon request.
