Set in countryside of olive groves, vineyards and cypresses, Novedeici was originally the farm buildings of the impressive Villa Donati estate nearby. Recently renovated, Novedieci is a luxury 10 bedroom property that now consists of a house that sleeps 16, a converted barn that sleeeps 4 and 16th Century chapel. The villa is situated in Sant' Alessio, approximately 5 kms (10 mins) from Lucca.

The owners have totally restored the property to a very high standard using authentic materials in the traditional Lucchese style, with terracotta tiled floors and chestnut beamed ceilings. The property also has modern, well equipped kitchens and bathrooms, plasma screen TVs with sky satellite and DVD, stereo systems, central heating, and gym. The feeling is fresh and clean.

With an overall floor space of 1,000 sq. meters., all rooms are large and spacious. Bathrooms are simple but elegant and all have a full bath and separate walk in shower. All bedrooms are fitted with ceiling fans, screens, mosquite nets and hairdryers. Cots and high chairs are available.Both the house and the barn are alarmed and there is a safe in the house for the use of guests.

The house has a cold drinks fridge which is kept supplied with beer and bottled water and a wine cellar stocked with a range of Italian wine. Both are operated on an honesty basis.

Food and Wine: The food and wine of Italy and in particular Tuscany, can make a visit special. At Novedieci guests have access to some of the best private cooks who are available to shop for, cook and serve outstanding lunches and dinners. Cooks are available for some or all lunches and dinners. To reserve the services of a cook please advise at the time of booking. The house manager is available during the course of a visit to advise on meal planning from suggested menus. Prices are available on request.

Like much of Italy, Lucca lies within a wine producing region. Novedieci itself is on the Strada di Vini near San Martino in Vignale, a designated wine tour route north of Lucca. The area to the north and north east of Lucca in particular, centred on Marlia and Montecarlo, have a large number of wineries many of which can be visited for tours and tastings by prior arrangement. Visits to Chianti, Montepulciano and Montalcino are also possible as a day trip.

At Novedieci, the main house has a cold drinks fridge which is kept supplied with beer and bottled water and wine cellar stocked with Italian wine ranging from local wines to fine wines. Both are operated on an honesty basis. Guests are asked to settle their accounts for drinks with the house manager at the end of their visit using cash or traveellers checks in Euros.
