San Regolo at Castello di Casole Tuscany

Casale San Regolo is a majestic estate which includes a collection of main residence and two regal guest residences at the crest of a long circular drive.

Olive groves border the home on two sides, and beyond the olives, the vineyards begin. The views are extraordinary, especially those seen over the ledge of the infinity-edge pool as the sun slips below the horizon. A short stroll up the road and through the cypress-lined lane is the Castello. A perfect walk after dinner before bed.

The main residence is complemented by two remarkable guest homes, which all share a common courtyard leading to the infinity-edge pool. The forno, or wood-oven, set in the middle of the courtyard is the perfect place to gather for dinner and watch the sun disappear into the hillside. Each guest residence is complete with master suite, bathroom and sitting area and one residence offers a unique outdoor shower for those wanting to enjoy the Tuscan outdoors.

Of all the Castello properties, San Regolo is among the most spacious, comfortably accommodating as many as twelve family members and friends.

San Regolo is approached from the main country lane leading from the Castello. The entry is an impressive circular drive leading up to the residential compound. Olive groves flank the property east and west with vineyards beyond. You will see 100 acres of Sangiovese and Cabernet vineyards used to make a private-label vintage only available on the estate. In addition, there are olive groves that are harvested on property to create a private-label extra virgin olive oil unlike any other.

At San Regolo the main residence is complemented by two remarkable guest homes, which all share a common courtyard leading the to the infinity edge pool. Reflected sunsets looking west toward the Castello and Casole d’Elsa are surely the most special to be found.

The San Regolo main residence is organized around a long, open living area with exposed stone walls subtly sectioned off by arched doorways and windows. It is airy and open, yet very intimate. The textures are rich with barrel vaulted ceilings, wood residences, interiors are warmed by traditional Tuscan style fireplaces. In the kitchen are a hand-carved marble sink, magnificent DeManincor gas and wood-burning stove and Gianfranco Ballerini refrigerators. Upstairs are three large master suites, two of which share a sitting room and fireplace. The suites afford complete privacy and stunning views of the countryside. The master baths are always works of art, with separate areas for the shower and deep soaking tubs and double-vanities. Bisazza Mosaic tile work, Axor and Philippe Stark fixtures add additional flair to the Italian furnishings.

Guest Residence One

Guest Residence One welcomes with a large sitting area and bedroom off the main courtyard. The bath is a destination in itself, with an enormous ten foot marble slab wall dividing the space. There is a free-standing tub, two free standing pedestal
sinks, open shower, toilet and bidet. The entire space opens through a window to a private enclosed patio with outdoor shower. Guests? They may never leave these opulent quarters.

Guest Residence Two

Adjacent to Residence One, yet very private, the Guest Residence Two has a large, high ceiling and sunken bedroom. The bath has an oversized bathtub, two freestanding pedestal sinks integrated into tile pillars, an open shower, toilet and bidet. The entire bath opens onto a private patio that overlooks a serene wooded valley. The compound’s
outdoor dining area is a wonderful and intimate loggia extending from the Guest Residence Two, over looking the infinity pool.
