French Alps Villas
When to go: The French Alps are beautiful any time of year, although most visitors go for the snow sports in the winter months. The larger towns host festivals in the winter and spring, or you can catch the Tour de France and fireworks displays in the summer. December is a popular time to visit thanks to the first annual snowfall, as well as the Christmas markets.
Things to do: Skiers and snowboarders will find paradise among these mountains, and you don’t have to be an expert; there is terrain for all levels. Some top resorts include Val d'Isère, Tignes, Méribel and Serre Chevalier. Those who don’t ski, or visit in the warmer months, can enjoy hiking, climbing, golf and mountain biking. Some of the best scenery will be found in Chamonix, set at the foot of Mont Blanc, where you can take a gondola ride for sweeping views. Visit the idyllic town of Annecy, with its beautiful lake and waterways.
