5 of Miami’s Most Beautiful Beaches

With a beach to suit every traveler – from partygoers to families – you’re guaranteed to find one that’s just what you’re looking for.

Miami’s reputation as one of the country’s foremost beach destinations is well deserved. With clear turquoise water and soft sand, Miami's beaches rival those in the Caribbean. And with a beach to suit every traveler – from partygoers to families – you’re guaranteed to find one that’s just what you’re looking for. Learn more about a few of Miami’s most beautiful beaches below.

South Beach

The southern tip of Miami Beach, known as South Beach, is famous for being one of the country’s premier party beaches. Many of the areas most well known clubs line nearby Ocean Drive, and people from all over the city come to have a good time while working on their tan (topless sunbathing is permitted, too). But even if partying isn’t your priority, the people watching on South Beach can’t be beat – and the Art Deco architecture, fantastic restaurants, and palpable energy of the place make South Beach a must-see.

North Beach

If South Beach becomes a bit overwhelming, head to the northern stretch of Miami Beach, where everything is quieter and more relaxed – but the beach is just as beautiful. North Beach offers concessions, restaurants, and beach volleyball, and there are often concerts at the North Beach Bandshell, and old-fashioned outdoor amphitheater.

Haulover Beach

In addition to being Miami’s only legal clothing-optional beach, 1.5-mile-long Haulover Beach is known as an excellent surfing beach, kite-flying destination (kites are sold on-site), and picnicking spot. And the nude areas of the beach are clearly marked, should you wish to avoid them.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

Bring the entire family to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, a relaxing beach with enough attractions to last a weekend. Take a tour of the on-site lighthouse, built in the early 19th century, grab a bite at one of the two area restaurants, or go swimming, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, or hiking in the surrounding parkland.

Hobie Beach

Also known as Windsurfer Beach, this is Miami’s premier spot for (you guessed it) windsurfing. Take an individual two-hour lesson or gather the entire family together for an all-day group lesson for a fun-filled day at the beach you’ll never forget. Hobie Beach is also one of Miami’s favorite dog-friendly beaches, if you’re interested in swimming with a few four-legged friends.
