Vacationers book Caribbean villas to get away from the stresses of the modern world and enjoy the beauty of the tropical region. Yet while these stunning accommodations make for a memorable excursion, the process of getting to the area in the first place can sometimes be a headache. Fortunately for those of you hoping to spend your summer on the sunny sands of St. Lucia, JetBlue has announced a new route that should make getting to the island paradise that much simpler.

Starting June 28, the airline will launch daily services to and from St. Lucia from New York's JFK International Airport. The route, which will run through September 4, will leave JFK every morning at 8:29 a.m., eventually touching down at St. Lucia's Hewanorra Airport at 1:07 p.m. The return trip will leave the island at 2:10 p.m. and reach the Big Apple around 7:12 p.m.

The announcement comes as welcome news to those of us who had anticipated layovers en route to our luxury rentals in the Caribbean. The route is expected be popular during its limited run, particularly given the additional value that the carrier brings to its passengers.

"Saint Lucia has most definitely been an integral part of JetBlue's Caribbean network since its start," claims Chad Meyerson, the director of global sales for JetBlue. "Saint Lucians and visitors alike have embraced JetBlue’s value proposition, complete with low fares, unlimited and free snacks and drinks, feature movies on seatback televisions and the best service in the skies; they will now have more choices to do so."

With the money saved on the flight, vacationers can afford to splurge a bit on their accommodations – and few locales are as luxuriously opulent as the beautiful Villa Ivrea. This five-bedroom estate was designed by Dan F. Slater and offers all of the stunning amenities travelers have come to expect from high-end Caribbean villas.

The patio area comes complete with an open veranda, terraced gardens and an infinity pool that offers stunning views of the sea. Though these are not the only swimming options on the premises, as the independent bedroom cottage comes equipped with its own splash pool.

Other amenities that visitors can revel in during their stay at this scenic villa include onsite kitchen staff, laundry service and easy access to the nearby St. Lucia Golf & Country Club, one of the best courses in the region.
