New Airport Makes Reaching Luxury Rentals in Jamaica a Breeze

Ian Fleming Airport provides a new outlet to reach Caribbean villas

While a summer spent in a luxury vacation rental is sure to be a first-class affair, you now have a new way to arrive in style. Kingston, Jamaica, has recently announced the opening of a new international airport specifically for private jets and other small aircraft, and the new travel hub has the distinction of being named for literary great and creator of the James Bond series, Ian Fleming.

Fleming was chosen as the namesake for the new airport because of his affection for the island nation, as the Huffington Post claims the writer - and former naval intelligence officer - wrote all 14 of the James Bond novels from a scenic retreat located just outside of Kingston. His niece Lucy Fleming, who was on hand for the airport's ribbon cutting, also spoke of her uncle's love for the island.

"He adored Jamaica and found so much inspiration and relaxation here. So I tell you something, to have this accolade of having an airport named after him here I know would have been a great honor for him," Fleming said.

With a new gateway to Jamaica, you should have no trouble securing a luxurious flight to your Caribbean villas this summer.
