See the Caribbean from a New Perspective in Nevis

Thanks to its position in the Caribbean, the small island of Nevis boasts some unique natural wonders and excellent views of the sea.

Thanks to its position in the Caribbean, the small island of Nevis boasts some unique natural wonders and excellent views of the sea. Though most villa vacation rentals will have excellent views of the island, vacationers hoping for a more comprehensive glance at the small landmass will want to head toward Saddle Hill, where Nelson's Lookout will grant them an excellent vantage that is hard to beat.

An ancient volcanic cone, Saddle Hill is located in the southern part of the island and rises far above several smaller peaks in the region. Atop this mini-mountain is Nelson's Lookout, a Carribbean fort named for its former lord, Horatio Nelson. As its name may imply, the facility was used by British troops stationed in the area to spot any ships that may be nearing the island. As such, the lookout provides an excellent view of the whole island, as well as some of the nearer landmasses.

The hike to the peak is part of the adventure, as the area is rich with colorful vegetation, as well as local wildlife like wild donkeys and scuttling crabs.

While this view is great, some of us like to enjoy views of the ocean from inside our Caribbean villas, where we can kick back and unwind in the lap of luxury.
