If you've booked an exotic vacation to Turks and Caicos villas, there's a good chance you're planning on spending the bulk of your trip by the water. While you're sure to have plenty of fun relaxing on the beach, there's a lot going on below the surface that may draw you in as well. One of these spectacular sights is Bight Reef, an underwater attraction that is frequently cited as being among the most stunning in the island chain.
Located near Grace Bay, a popular beach in Turks and Caicos, Bight Reef is one of the top must-see locales for travelers staying at nearby luxury rentals. This spectacular site, found on the Providenciales island, is known throughout the Caribbean as being one of the top spots for viewing colorful fish, expansive coral formations and some examples of fascinating marine life.
Grace Bay itself has about 12 miles of soft sand, so you'll have no problem finding a quiet spot to relax and unwind in between dips in the ocean. Bight Reef extends for much of this stretch as well, making it easy to hop in for a swim and catch some amazing sights while you're at it.
An Adventure Lover's Paradise
Bight Reef is an ideal location for snorkeling or scuba diving. The amazing marine life situated just below the surface is fascinating, and travelers who aren't afraid to get up close to these creatures and environments are in for an unforgettable experience. There is even a marked snorkel trail that takes swimmers through some of the underwater attraction. Depths range anywhere from 3 feet to 16 feet in most of the sections along this route, and much of it is filled with tame fish used to human interaction.
It's easy to rent equipment for water sports while on the beach, and you can also arrange for things like boating or sailing excursions if you want to see the reef from above the surface of the water.
If you'd rather fill your time at Caribbean villas with activities that are a little more low key, all you have to do is head to the area surrounding Bight Reef. Spend your time after a swim dining at a local restaurant or browsing the selection offered by native island vendors.
